We bet this is how you image lawn bowls still looks today?

Unfortunately, despite huge efforets by the governing bodies, most people still imagine lawn bowls is played by retirees, wearing all white and all playing with black bowls. 

Thankfully, the reality is very different.  Gone are the club jackets & ties, pleated skirts, straw hats and uncomfortable shoes. 

Nowadays most players bowl in club polo shirts with colour coordinated shorts / skirts and flat-soled trainers. 

And our bowls are every colour (and colour combinations) you can imagine.

Bowls for everyone

Lawn bowls is a fantastically inclusive game, enjoyed by all ages and abilities. From the moment a child can hold the smallest bowl (size 0000) to individuals well into their 90s, everyone can enjoy our sport. While games were traditionally played on Saturday or Wednesday afternoons, we now offer play at any time of day, any day of the week. This flexibility allows for a far wider demographic of participants to enjoy the game.

 

 

 

Playing Times

Once you are a fully paid-up member of ICBC, you will have access to the bowls green at most times of the week.  The only exceptions are Monday and Wednesdays mornings when the wonderful groundsmen from the main club are tending to our green - cutting, watering, feeding, scarifying, hollow tining, etc.

We have three informal get-togethers (all members welcome) each week, as follows:

* Bowls Bash - Monday evenings.  17:30 for a 18:00 start.

* Roll-Up - Tuesday afternoon.  10:00 for a 10:30 start.

* Jumbles - Friday afternoon.  10:00 for a 10:30 start.

The Green opening times are 09. 00 am on Tuesdays ,Thursdays, Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays and from 12 .00 pm Mondays and Wednesdays. 

If you want to book a rink in advance, simply call the office of the main club (on 020 8398 1267) and ask them to add it to the Bowls Club Booking Diary.
